The Yucatan Peninsula’s Most UNDERRATED City!!

We spent one week in Valladolid, Yucatan to find out why this little town is designated a "Pueblo Magico" (Magic Town) in Mexico. We quickly discovered that Valladolid, located about 2 hours away from Merida, has a LOT that makes it special. For instance, the absolutely crave-worthy Yucatecan cuisine like longaniza de Valladolid, Pok Chuc, Cochinita Pibil, Agua de Chaya, Panuchos, Marqueitas, and many other dishes.

Valladolid has a lot of history behind it, too. Some of that is visible in the impressive buildings, some of which date back to the 1500s! Even our Airbnb was quite unique. Also in this Mexico travel vlog, we experience a breathtaking cenote right underneath the city! This is one of many freshwater "sinkholes" that can be found in the Yucatan Peninsula. And finally, Valladolid is known for a few handmade products, some of which are made out of local leather. Maddie found some real leather huaraches (sandals) at a local market for an almost unbelievable price.
