Marcela Escobari: Introduction to the Atlas and Globe of Economic Complexity

The Atlas of Economic Complexity is an interactive tool launched in 2012 by the Center of International Development at Harvard University that allows users to visualize data, trends and opportunities related to a thousand products for the last 65 years in 120 countries.

In the past year, the Center has worked to launch two new tools: The Globe of Economic Complexity, which allows users to “zoom out” and see trade at a global scale; and the Subnational Atlases for Colombia and Mexico, which allow users to “zoom in” and help people in these countries to accelerate growth at a micro level.
