Silverstone, Northamptonshire.
L/S of the racing cars driving along the track while people watch. Camera pans to follow a nice red car number 15 (Bentley 1927/30). High angle frontal L/S of the cars driving along the track. L/S of the crowd with tents in the background. M/S of a man working on the engine of Wolseley Hornet. C/U shot of the engine. This is not an ordinary Silverstone car race - this is a vintage car race. C/U shot of a flag reading "Vintage Sports Car Club" flying above pavilion. M/S of a man working on car's engine. M/S of a great old silver racing car number 32 (Amilcar 1927). M/S of several cars moving to starting position. M/S of a lovely green car number 99 (Amilcar 1926). M/S of the line of the cars moving to starting position. M/S of the car number 56 (Bentley 1924) moving to starting position. M/S of the audience.
Voiceover talks about history of the Vintage Sports Car Club, sponsor of the race. L/S of the start of the race. Drivers are running towards their cars parked across the track, jumping into cars and starting to drive. Succession of shots following the race - robust race for the cars of that age. During the race, some of the cars are seen better then others: car number 114 (Riley 1928), car number 105 (Bugatti 1930) and car number 88 (Riley 1930). M/S of a man waving a flag signalling the end of the race. Unfortunately it is not possible to see the number of the winner.
M/S of car number 103 (Talbot 1913) getting ready for the next race - historic racing cars race called Edwardian Handicap. C/U shot of the car's driver (B. M. Clarke). M/S of the three men pushing car number 9 (E.R.A. 1935). It seems that the cars start two by two. C/U shot of the car number 103 starting the race. M/S of the next two cars, numbers 60 (Sunbeam 1914) and 61 (Humber 1914) starting the race with lots of smoke. Finally, car number 47 (Sunbeam 1914) starts. Several shots of the race. Race is finished with number 61 winning (not clearly seen). Car number 103 slowly drives through the crowd. M/S of the driver of one of the cars taking his helmet off. Camera tilts down to show number 60. Driver is Sir Francis Samuelson.
