My Thoughts:

Overall I think this is a good debut into the contour and highlight craze from Kat Von D. The contour and highlight shades will suit the majority of Light to Medium skintones, however, the shades will be a bit off for very pale skin and tan to deep skin.

I find the contour shades border on being a touch too ashen on my skin while the highlight shades are too stark. The highlight shades pack some punch so you have to be very light-handed and be careful to blend. while the contour shades are a bit more build-able in intensity. All the shades are soft and blend easily onto the skin. They have a nice soft and smooth texture without being overly powdery. And the finish is a soft natural matte rather than a flat chalkboard matte.

The highlight (light) shades are very similar in color and depth with subtle differences in undertone - peach, pink, yellow - not enough to really show up when used lightly. The contour (shade) shades show the biggest differences in both undertone and depth which make them more versatile.

While I don't think dark skin or even pale skin will get full use out of the palette, I still think it's a good palette for the lucky mediums.
