Race day had finally arrived! Our 50 km category flagged off at 5:00 a.m. To be safe, we reached the venue by 4:00 a.m. to prepare and take a few photos. At 5 o’clock, the sky was still dark, and the race officially began.

This was the third stop of the Hoka King Series, also known as the “gentlest” among the three — with a total elevation gain of less than 500 m. Most of the route was flat, with no river crossings, no muddy paths, and no wet shoes to worry about. The course led us along paved roads, into paddy field trails, through oil palm plantations, village tracks, and finally into the forest, passing through the mystical Gua Teluk Kelawar and Gua Tok Giring, before making a U-turn and retracing the same path back to the finish line.

We were blessed with cloudy skies, as the clouds shielded us from the blazing sun — otherwise it would have been scorching. When I crossed the finish line, one of the crew asked if I was in the Men Open category. I replied, “No, I’m in Men Veteran.” He said, “Oh, the Men Veteran Top 10 is already full!” I just laughed, as I had already expected it — after all, the competition in Men Veteran is always strong. So I sat down to rest and take photos, already content with the day.

Then came the surprise — the organizer suddenly called my name. It turned out there had been a system error earlier, and I was actually ranked 10th place! What an unexpected joy — I made it to the podium and received a medal of honor.

The award ceremony for the 50 km category only started at 1:00 p.m., but it was worth the wait. Even more amazing — all four of us who traveled together managed to get onto the podium!

This day was not just a testament of sweat and miles, but also the best reflection of friendship, perseverance, and glory.

比赛日终于到来！我们的 50 公里组别在清晨 5 点鸣枪起跑。为了万无一失，我们凌晨 4 点便已抵达赛场，先做准备，再拍几张照片留念。5点钟，天还没亮，赛事正式拉开序幕。

这场属于 Hoka King Series 第三站，也被称为三场里最“温柔”的一站 —— 总爬升不到 500 米，大部分路段平坦，没有过河涉水，也没有泥泞困扰，更不必担心湿脚奔跑。一路跑过马路、稻田小径、油棕园、乡村小道，再进入森林，穿越神秘的 Gua Teluk Kelawar 和 Gua Tok Giring，随后在 U-turn 后折返原路，奔向终点。

幸运的是，今天天气多云，乌云巧妙地为我们遮住烈日，否则必定“晒到脱皮”。抵达终点时，工作人员笑着问我是不是 Men Open 组别，我回答：不是，我是 Men Veteran。他随即说：“哎呀，Men Veteran 的 Top 10 已经满了！”我也只是哈哈一笑，早已心中有数，毕竟这个组别高手如云。于是我就在一旁休息、拍照，心满意足。

正当我放松时，忽然听到主办单位呼喊我的名字，原来系统一度出错，其实我正好排在 第十名！这下惊喜不已，居然还能登上领奖台，收获了一枚象征荣耀的奖牌。

直到下午一点，主办方才为 50 公里组别颁奖。更令人欣喜的是，我们这辆车的四位参赛者，全员都上了领奖台！

这一天，不仅是汗水与脚步的见证，更是友情、坚持与荣耀的最好写照。
