On this occasion, we revisit our very first lecture by scholar and poet Ahmad Javaid. In this session, he examines modernity, man, and society through the literary world of Franz Kafka, with particular focus on the short story A Hunger Artist.
Ahmad Javaid reflects on Kafkas portrayal of the fractured modern man, suspended in alienation, uncertainty, and existential disarray. He traces how this transformation, most vividly articulated through the idea of metamorphosis, continues to shape the inner life, anxieties, and consciousness of people today.
