This fantastic engine was built by Cameron Gilmour in Perth, Scotland. The first power run on the dyno gave a lower output than we expected. Then Peter chuckled at me after he checked out the new heat shield I had personally fitted to the bottom of the Weber 45 DCOE Carb.
Apparently it was preventing the throttle from opening any more than 30%!
When the heat shield was removed the engine bhp went up from 100 bhp to almost 140! So much for my mechanics skills! :)
This dyno run was probably the best £80 that I have ever spent.
Cameron Gilmours engine is just brilliant in the MGA!
