The IIA has a slogan of "Progress Through Sharing," that is often quoted by its members.
This slogan is often misunderstood and misapplied in its application.
In this video I share some of the pitfalls and mistakes #internalaudit makes when we misinterpret and then act out of that misunderstanding. In fact, often it is more of a "progress through plagiarism" than real sharing since we do not apply the sharing and knowledge in a way that is #authentic or tailored to our specific context.
This shows up in how we think and act personally, and how we perform our internal audit activities. To be more effective we need to understand and start living this slogan with more integrity if we intend to provide real value to our organizations and avoid the pitfalls that come with acting out of alignment with this simple saying.
