Описание: Virginia Giuffre posthumously published a book about her life called Nobody's Girl. In this series of videos, I talk about some of the stories within that book with the added perspective that can only come from going through DV and CSA yourself. This video diary chronicles what this book taught me and encouraged me to reflect upon in my own life, as well as educating about CSA, DV, and what enduring abusive relationships or child abuse does to a person in the short- and long-term.
This video covers chapters 17 and 18, and addresses concerns surrounding her final flight from Jeffrey Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell, and their vast network of co-conspirators. Topics covered include learning to obey to avoid harm and struggling to stop obeying when the danger is gone, the virtues and vices of the Daily Mail and how Virginia Giuffre's past made her especially vulnerable to the ploddings of exploitative journalists, the tendency of learned helplessness to lead to further exploitation, her (and my) pervasive tendency of caring for others at the cost of ourselves (a direct result of our conditioning), how she and I fled our worst abusers, some methods of coping with trauma during and after the event: dissociation, religious devotion. It also discusses the difference between codependent relationships, interdependent relationships, and the importance of avoiding toxic independence. Overall, it highlights the pervasive and enduring harm of child and adult exploitation of others, and demonstrates the need for better enforcement of the laws that protect victims.
