Today's video is addressing our top tips, exercises and advice for Trochanteric Bursitis. This can be extremely sore, sharp and debilitating; it causes inflammation of the bursa (fluid-filled sac) around the greater trochanter of the femur (outer hip)
We would always advise to get this properly assessed first by a musculoskeletal expert to rule out involvement of other conditions (in particular with the hip) including potential impingement or osteoarthritis.
Commonly weakness, tightness or soreness in the gluteus medius and minimus muscles, change in gait or excessive pressure can cause this to inflame.
Today's video has shared our favourite tips, exercises and advice to help with the pain:
1. Icing over the greater trochanter
2. Stretching the surrounding muscles
3. Trigger point release around the area
4. Foam rolling to the surrounding area
5. Strengthening exercises for the surrounding musculature
