Luka’s Character:
He’s probably the most complicated character in ALNST. How I interpreted him as a character is that he’s someone who doesn’t care about anything aside from Hyuna. Does that mean he really shouldn’t care about anything else? Not even human lives? No feelings or reactions? Of course not. So why was he laughing at Till like he doesn’t care about him? Simple, because that’s how it was shown in the Music Video. I don’t mean he laughed at him because he was mocking Till in any way, I believe that he did that because he was amused at Till’s desperation to live but still grieving at his friend’s death, in which he can possibly relate to because he already lost Hyunwoo and Hyuna (well, she wasn’t dead yet but still). I guess you can say that he can see himself in Till and/or was somehow proud that his tactic’s still effective?? You guys interpret it however you want. Just know that I didn’t intend to make him a heartless bastard. Why would I do that to my pookie? I also wanted Luka to be silent most of the time, but this is a REACTION VIDEO, where they’d be showing reactions—so of course, I made him talk a lot more than his usual self.

Till’s Character:
I don’t really see Till as an extrovert either, but I definitely think he would talk a lot more than Luka. Thus, he talks a lot more here. I also think he’s someone who overthinks a lot. Uh… I think I overdid it here? I realized he kept apologizing whenever Ivan’s on screen. Like, BRO WE GET IT. I didn’t intend to do that, it just somehow ended up like that… my bad hehe. Anyways, I kinda imagine him as Sakura Haruka from Windbreaker. Someone who doesn’t talk much but still has some human decency in him despite how he looks, also weak to compliments.

Moondae’s Character:
He’s not that difficult to portray because his character is similar to my pookie Cale Henituse. Very nonchalant but not heartless. Notice how he gets flustered whenever he’s complimented? Yeah, I’m pretty sure he tends to act like that in the novel because he never admits his natural talents and skills. It’s like he needs reassurance…

Cheongryeo’s Character:
Another complicated character, probably the most complicated one in the novel? This guy’s full of surprises in the novel. He may seem heartless and manipulative, but he genuinely likes his job and Kongi (his dog). Although he was a total red flag at first, he truly cares for his hoobae. That being said, I portrayed him as a “playful” character and Moondae’s guardian (hyung). I intentionally made him flirty here because he’s kinda fruity in the novel (iykwim). The best reference for his character is probably Dazai Osamu of Bungou Stray dogs.

I am WELL AWARE that their reactions aren’t very canon, but is that really the problem when I literally put a disclaimer about it in the beginning? People need to accept that things like these DON’T need to be perfect. Alien Stage isn’t like those novels or manhwas with a lot of dialogue that helps us understand a character. This only relies on Music Videos, and sometimes exclusive content on Patreon, which not everyone has access to or the luxury to check it (like me). I can assure you I did my research on these characters whenever I make reaction videos, but I sometimes have to consider the… fun, y’know? If their reactions are too canon/serious, I won’t be able to add any comedy, in which I find boring. I’m not in any way offended or mad at the fandom of course, I just need to clear things up just in case I’ll get dragged for misinterpreting the characters. Huge thanks to the people for openly criticizing what I was doing wrong!
