The box was made to order for a beautiful boy who is 12 years old. This boy loves nature, which is why motifs of navigating nature such as a compass and camouflage pattern dominate. The box is personalized with the boy's name on it, in addition to all symbolic and internal messages.
To decorate this box, I used polymer clay and cold porcelain figures, a compass and acrylic paint, as well as a lock and a padlock.

I used cold porcelain to decorate this box.
Cold porcelain is an inexpensive, non-toxic, easy-to-work-with material. It is an air dry clay it does not require heat in order for it to cure, instead hardening by exposure to fresh air. Once dry its hard like rock but can be softened by hot water. I made this unique box out of cardboard and cold porcelain.
