The objective of the metro rail project was to eliminate the problem of unbearable traffic jams in Dhaka. The stations built under this project have opened up a new horizon in the city's public transport system. However, Mirpur-10 and Kazipara stations were closed for almost two months due to some untoward incidents. Now, overcoming those hurdles, Mirpur-10 station is re-opening. It will bring a major change in Dhaka's transit system and make the daily commute of city dwellers easier.

After the closure of the stations, Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited took immediate action and started the repair work. However, the repair work of Mirpur-10 station took a little longer due to the high damage. Mirpur-10 station had more parts damaged than Kazipara station. DMTCL Managing Director Mohammad Abdur Rauf said that the repair and replacement work of Mirpur-10 station has already been completed. Every piece of equipment and system has been tested before the entire station is restarted, and everything is working properly.
The DMTCL team used local equipment for the repair work, which greatly reduced the cost. While some parts are said to have to be imported, most of the repairs have been done with locally sourced materials. While completing the rehabilitation work of Mirpur-10 station, an important issue was the trial run of the train. Two trains are run and engineers keep a close eye on each. As the test results were satisfactory, it was decided to restart the station.
