Among the most famous residents of Huanglong are the giant panda (大熊貓) and the golden snub-nosed monkey (川金絲猴). Though rarely spotted by tourists, these elusive creatures rely on the pristine environment of the region for survival. Huanglong is also home to species such as the Sichuan takin, snow leopards, musk deer, and a wide variety of birds and amphibians.
