The Perchtenlauf is a street procession held every four years in Gasteinertal, central Austria. The particular event in the video was an exception to the four year rule, being a one-day run held from Bad Gastein to Bad Hofgastein on New Year's Day 2023.
The Gasteiner Perchtenlauf is recognized as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage.
The sub-title "half tilt" is a double entendre. Obviously there is the forward tilt movement of the participants wishing peace, order, and health on the home owners.
But it`s also meant as opposed to full tilt, meaning "full speed". The video was shot at half speed, well at quarter speed in part.
