Well, this was the first hike of 2020 for me, and with a storm on the horizon I knew it was going to be a mixed bag regarding the weather. After enjoying the incredibly scenic drive to the Carnedd Llewelyn Car Park I headed off towards Dulyn Bothy. (The car park is small, but free) I decided to complete a circular walk heading up towards Llyn Melynllyn before descending to Llyn Dulyn and then onto the bothy located just below the reservoir. Here I made a warm drink to get out of the high winds caused by the incoming storm. After a short look through the bothy book I packed up and continued to hike towards the dam at the bottom of the valley. This is a fantastic walk for all experience levels, including beginners as the path is very obvious and the terrain is easily manageable for all. I will 100% be headed back here this summer for a wild camp.
