Medical treatment aims to fix why the ET maybe swollen (usually allergy or colds). There is also surgical treatment called Eustachian Tuboplasty where a balloon is used to prop open the collapsed cartilage of the ET. This has shown to be effective in 80% of people and can last around 5 years.
