PM Modi’s Big Message at SCO: No Double Standards on Terrorism!

Описание: PM Modi delivered a strong message at the 26th SCO Summit in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, calling for a united fight against terrorism and warning that there can be no double standards in dealing with the terror ecosystem.

Addressing leaders from across the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), PM Modi said terrorism must be tackled by dismantling its entire ecosystem, including terror financing, recruitment, radicalisation and safe havens. He also stressed that countries must not use terrorism as an instrument of policy or treat it as a strategic asset.

But India’s message at the SCO Summit was not limited to security.

PM Modi highlighted India’s vision for the organisation around three key pillars:

S — Security
C — Connectivity
O — Opportunity

India wants the SCO’s shared geography to become a source of trade, connectivity, development and new opportunities, while connectivity initiatives should respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries.

The 2026 summit was especially significant because the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation completed 25 years. India has been a full member of the SCO since 2017.

PM Modi also reiterated India’s position that conflicts cannot be permanently solved through war and that dialogue and diplomacy remain essential for peace.

For India, the SCO is strategically important because it brings together major powers and countries across Central Asia and Eurasia.
