🌸The Mito Plum Festival has a history of over 120 years.
It is held at Kairakuen, one of the three most famous gardens in Japan, and Kodokan, a historic feudal school.
In the garden, 3,000 plum trees of about 100 varieties bloom beautifully, as if to announce the arrival of spring. You can enjoy viewing plum blossoms over a long period of time, with early, mid-season, and late blooming varieties.
During the festival, a various events are held, including the Night Plum Festival and the National Plum Wine Festival, where plum wines from all over the country are gathered.

🌸Highlights of Kairakuen

🌸Plum grove: The vast plum garden is a spectacular sight with white and red plums in full bloom.
🏯Kobuntei: A two-story, three-level wooden building with a panoramic view of the entire garden.
🍰Cafe Raku: A cafe inside Kobuntei. The tiramisu served in a masu box is popular.
🎋Bamboo and cedar forests: Enjoy the silence and beautiful scenery while strolling through nature.
