UPDATE
Doom III Version 1.0B is out, with a few important updates:

Save games made in v 1.0a will NOT be possible to load with 1.0b - so complete your current playthrough before updating. Any achievements and unlocks you have gotten will stay between versions.

*The two easiest difficulties will be changed to help people from running out of ammo.
*The default difficulty will also be changed for the same reason.
*Armor actors has their names changed to allow for Addons and Mods that would break from using the same names.
*Fixed minor level bugs.
*Fixed a few achievement issues.
*Added epileptic friendly mode - so you can turn off the strobing effects.
*Lite version will be smaller than before, version 1.0B, coming soon.

Doom III is a mod for Doom II.
It runs on the GzDoom engine 4.12.0+ and if you own the new Doom + Doom II on steam you can use it's Doom2.Wad to run this mod with GzDoom.
Both GzDoom as well as the Doom III mod can be downloaded for free. (Links above)

Fight your way through 2 Chapters of new levels, SinglePlayer or Coop.
Play as Doom Guy, Doom Gal, or one of the other selectable characters.
Customize your difficulty by chosing your Character, Skill and Save-Point amount.
Alongside all the well known monsters, items, weapons and power-ups there are also lots of new ones, to help you fight back the demons.
36 new Tracks to rock out to while slaying demons. Many made by the Doom Community.
20+ Hours of Gameplay, with extra modes, collectibles, achievements and unlocks.
