2021 Ford GT “Heritage Edition” honors a GT40 Raced by Ken Miles

Описание: Ford has officially unveiled the 2021 GT Heritage Edition.

Designed to pay tribute to the GT40 Mark II that won the 24 Hours of Daytona in 1966, the Heritage Edition features a retro-inspired exterior with Frozen White paint and asymmetrical Race Red accents. Other highlights include an exposed carbon fiber hood and “98” roundel graphics.

The changes don’t stop there as the special edition has “Ford” lettering on the rear quarter panels and 20-inch forged aluminum wheels with a Heritage Gold finish. The latter are backed up by a Brembo braking system with red calipers.

Moving into the cabin, buyers will find red Alcantara sport seats and anodized red paddle shifters. They’re contrasted by black Alcantara upholstery on the instrument panel, headliner and steering wheel.

Customers looking for something more unique can opt for the Heritage Upgrade Package. It features a revised exterior with exposed carbon fiber wheels that have gloss red inner accents. The package also includes black calipers with red Brembo lettering as well as “ghosted 98 roundels” on the inner door panels.

If the Heritage Edition isn’t your sort of thing, fear not as the GT also gains a new Studio Collection package that “offers even more exclusivity and design enhancements.”

The graphics package is the result of a collaboration between Ford Performance and Multimatic which builds the car. Multimatic’s head of design, Garen Nicoghosian, had a lot of input on the package and said “The combination of the stripes and accents invokes the emotion of speed and draws your eye to some of the most prominent features of the GT.”

Only 40 models will be offered with the Studio Collection package and they’ll be spread across the 2021 and 2022 model years. Customers can choose between seven standard colors or opt for an “extended palette offering endless color combinations for even greater exclusivity.”

Deliveries of the 2021 Ford GT will begin early next year and production will wrap up in 2022. However, your chances of getting one of the new variants is slim as Ford told us they’re “available for request to our approved applicants who have yet to order their Ford GT.”
