Описание: Having completed his doctorate in Molecular and Cellular Life Science in 2013 at the University of Wyoming, Dr. Nurmemet went on to do postdoctoral research in Texas and California. At the time of his arrest in April, 2021, he was a research scientist at Tongji University in Shanghai, one of the most prestigeous universities in all of China. Sadly, his arrest fits the well-documented pattern of the Chinese government's targeting of academics and cultural leaders of Uyghur ethnicity — all under the pretense of an "anti-extremification" campaign.
