Most YouTube advice sounds logical. Short videos. Clear titles. Informative thumbnails.

And yet… a lot of creators follow it and still don’t see results.
A massive $10,000 YouTube data study analyzed over 300,000 viral videos across 50,000 channels — and what it revealed is uncomfortable: much of the advice creators are told to optimize for actually correlates with worse performance.

In this video, I break down why that advice backfires.
Not who’s lying. Not what hack to chase next.

But the deeper mismatch between what feels responsible to optimize… and what YouTube actually rewards.
