Canned pumpkin and cushaw is best quality when used within one year, but you can safely use it for much longer as long as the jar is sealed. If you experience water/liquid loss, food above the liquid line may become slightly discolored, but is again safe to use if the jar is pnwell-sealed. To keep your jars from becoming cloudy, you can add a couple of teaspoons of white vinegar to the water in the canner.
