Lapland and the Far North of Sweden | Road Trip Experiences

Описание: As I travel to the far north of Sweden I pass a lot of interesting towns and sights. Follow me to explore way above the Arctic Circle!

I'm on a road trip from Stockholm to the far north of Sweden, and I'm checking out all the weird and wonderful things I can find along the way. This time I'm focusing on the towns I pass through, starting from Örnsköldsvik to Umeå, past Luleå and Piteå, Boden, Harads, Kiruna and all the way up to Abisko.

The part of the trip that I show in this video is more than 800 km (more than 500 miles), and by then I had already traveled a far distance from my origin in Stockholm.

Things I show or talk about in this video include:

The house Ting1 and Paradiset SPA in Örnsköldsvik.
I was mostly passing through Umeå and Luleå, so you just get some quick views from those towns.
The town centre of Piteå, with Christmas decorations and poor Santas sleeping on a bench.
I was planning on showing the Fort of Boden (Rödbergsfortet / Bodens fästning), but it was closed so I only showed a big gun and lots and lots of snow...
In Harads you can see the Treehotel - a completely unique designer hotel, unlike anything you've ever seen.
Some quick views of the Arctic Circle.
Kiruna town centre with a light exhibition, tons of snow and freezing -18 degrees C weather. Kiruna is an old mining town that I briefly talk about - but the mine itself was closed now.
And finally, I find myself in Abisko, in the very far north of Sweden. It's a village with 170 people, and one of the best places in the world to see the Northern Lights.
