Man shot dead on BX-36 bus in The Bronx

Police say two men got into an argument just before 2:30 p.m. when one of them pulled out a gun and fired multiple shots, hitting a 41-year-old man. The bus came to a sudden stop at East Tremont Avenue and White Plains Road - not an official stop - as passengers rushed off in panic. Witnesses describe chaos as people ran from the bus, including one individual who sprinted down White Plains Road. Authorities say the victim managed to get off the bus after being shot and collapsed on the sidewalk before being rushed to the hospital, where he later died. Witnesses say the bus was crowded, with families on board, including a child. Police have not released a description of the suspected shooter, though some in the area say he appeared young.
