In this video (Episode 1407), I repair an OpenSky 2000X digital satellite receiver that was completely dead and not turning ON.
During troubleshooting, I found three faulty components in the switch-mode power supply (SMPS):

Bulged VCC capacitor
VCC dropping resistor burnt-out
5L0380R PWM controller IC damaged

I explain each step of the diagnosis, how the VCC supply drops due to a burnt resistor, how the SMPS controller IC fails, and how replacing these components restores the receiver back to normal operation.
