Trade Like a Contrarian, Do the Opposite of The Herd

This is a price action setup for fading the crowd i.e. the retail guys who are piling into this trade thinking it is the right thing and we're looking for signals that its not the right thing so we can take the opposing side. Suppose a market is in a downtrend where the market is pulling back within a broader uptrend. We've come down, tested a low, pushed up again, came down again broken thru a low and we're at point 2, pushed back up again and came down again and re-tested and we're at point 3. The important thing with this is that we can quantify our risk and its easy to see where we can place our stop.
