I most certainly underestimated this mountain for sure! Great experience. This mountain is only 2,700+ ft high, but it's still a challenge. There are many insane and jagged rocks that you MUST climb in order to get to the top. At some points, it does become confusing. In fact; I was told this mountain has the most helicopter rescues in Phoenix due to people being lost when alone, dehydration, injury and or heat exhaustion. Park Rangers will close the trail when it becomes hot during the day so arriving for a hike in the early mornings is highly recommended. If you hike this mountain, stay safe and be smart.
