US President Donald Trump has sensationally claimed that the United States will "take over" the Gaza Strip and "level it," after earlier claiming that the stricken region is a "demolition site" that Palestinians would never want to return to.
Trump appeared alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House as part of an official state visit.
In a joint press conference, Trump repeatedly called for the permanent displacement of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, noting that "over the decades it's been all death in Gaza," while Netanyahu sat attentively alongside the President.
