On Sunday February 5, 1978 a massive winter storm formed over the east coast of the United States. By 3:00 pm on Monday, February 6, what would forever be known as the “Blizzard of ‘78” dropped over 3 feet of snow on top of Cape Ann and brought 33 hours of blizzard conditions. Timed perfectly with a Moon Tide, storm surges caused catastrophic damage to coastal buildings. Kory Curcuru tells the epic tale in the latest Timeline: Cape Ann.
