“The Parable of the Tenants in the Vineyard” is a story Jesus told to illustrate a spiritual lesson.
A landowner planted a vineyard, built protective structures, and rented it to tenants before leaving for another country. When harvest time came, he sent his servants to collect his share of the produce. However, the tenants mistreated and killed the servants. The landowner sent more servants, but the tenants treated them the same way. Finally, he sent his son, thinking they would respect him. Instead, the tenants killed the son, hoping to seize his inheritance. Jesus concluded that the landowner would come and punish the tenants, giving the vineyard to others who would honor their responsibilities.

This parable highlights themes of stewardship, betrayal, and divine justice. It was a way for Jesus to address the religious leaders of his time, indicating that they had failed in their duties and that God’s kingdom would be entrusted to others who would be faithful.
