Vespers Rock is absolutely massive. This one chunk of Roslyn Formation sandstone I would say is 400 feet long, 150 feet wide and at points more than 100 feet tall. After napping on our little precipice, we had ourselves a good bit of wandering around on top of and around the rock.
Now, Vespers isn’t flat across: it is tiled in 2 directions. The main tilt is about 20 degrees downwards from north to south, with another 15 degree rotation from east to west. This makes it a bit exciting to walk along, as the surface plane of the rock has also eroded unevenly. Either way, we fully enjoyed wandering about the gray sandstone, before getting down around the fort of it and into Vespers Cove
