This artificial nest was installed in 2010 and since then the male golden eagle Virsis and female Spilve have been nesting here. The last successful nesting of golden eagles here was in 2016. In 2020, a baby hatched from the egg, however it died at the age of less than two months. In 2023, this particular pair of eagles nested in another bog. The nest is located in a bog on an island owned by JSC “Latvia’s State Forests”.
