BORLA vs MAGNAFLOW Muffler Comparison-1985 LS1 Caprice

Описание: Testing out 2 different mufflers on my '85 LS1 5-speed Caprice project car

I originally went with Borla because it's supposed to be the best with LS, but once I tried them I wasn't so sure they were for me. I loved how loud they are, very pronounced choppy sound which I wanted, but upon driving it there is a very tinny/megaphone-rattle sound AS you get on it that I really didn't like. (you can hear it in the take off videos) Higher RPMs it sounds Amazing, and idling and maneuvering sounds amazing, but As you get on it there was a rattle I just didn't like.

Tried the Magnaflows next. Significantly quieter for sure. My very first drive after installing them I said to myself "it got rid of Everything I didn't like about the Borlas, but, took away one thing I liked...the volume" The Magnas sound Incredible, great Clean crisp sound, Zero popping or spitting, they do their job Very well and it is a Very good sound, but just not as Loud. I told people it went from sounding like a hot rod, to sound like a Very Good Sounding Car.

Today everyone seems to Seek out the popping and spitting (shitty sounding exhausts in my opinion) so people may not find the issue with Borlas that I did, again they Did sound great overall, but just some specific tones I didn't like at certain RPMs. Nothing is making me hurry to change the Magnaflows though, even though they are not as loud they do sound so so very good, I'm very happy with them...I still have some rear end gearing to change and many other tweaks on the car that will change how it performs which will change how it sounds because I'll be riding at different RPMs than I am now so I may like them even more, we'll see.
