Survival Analysis - 1 - Intro

Описание: Survival Analysis is the study of "time-to-event" data. It introduces complications to "regular" statistics, mainly because of "censoring" - the fact that we don't necessarily observe the actual event time, but instead only know that the event didn't happen up to some time.

In this video I give a short introduction, and cover the Survival and Hazard functions (regular & cumulative, continuous and discrete) - and look into the unique likelihood of Survival analysis.

*Corrections*:
-- At 11:00 and 12:30 the formulas should be in terms of (t_i, delta_i) and not (x_i, c_i): L=prod{[f_X(t_i)]^delta_i [S_X(t_i)]^(1-delta_i) } and at 11:40 L=prod{[f_X(t_i)S_C(t_i)]^delta_i [S_X(t_i)f_C(t_i)]^(1-delta_i) }
-- At 18:05 in -ln(1-x)≈x here x is representing h(x) of course. Since x is time it can get very big, but what is meant, is that for small values of h(x), the approximation is good enough.
