Happy Eupho Sunday! It's the 10th anniversary of Sound Euphonium, and the 1st anniversary of Sound Euphonium 3, so we’re celebrating by doing a deep dive into the narrative themes of season 3 and exploring the path that Kumiko followed to get to the stunning finale where she lost the soli audition but led Kitauji to win gold at the National All-Japan Band Competition, while fully exploring the themes of leadership, hard work, and the search for one's purpose. Some of the questions I want to answer in this video are: Who is Mayu, and what challenges does she bring Kumiko as the club president? What made Kumiko the right choice to be club president, and how do her actions lead Kitauji to victory? Why did Kumiko lose the soli in the end, and why did they change the ending of the novel? And, why did Kumiko choose the career path she ended up choosing?
