This week is a classic example of March weather in Central Oregon. Winter isn’t quite finished, but spring is starting to push into the region. We’ll see a mix of sunny breaks, cooler days and occasional systems moving through. Temperatures trend a little warmer by midweek before another round of unsettled weather arrives later in the week. It’s a transitional pattern where sunshine, wind, rain, and mountain snow can all show up within just a few days.
From late this week into the weekend, Central Oregon stays under a broad trough pattern. That keeps temperatures near the 50s with occasional showers, periods of sunshine, and gusty winds at times. The Cascades will continue to see rounds of snow with each disturbance while lower elevations trend more toward rain. By late weekend into early next week, temperatures gradually warm again as another mild stretch begins.
