This was a black stone fireplace. I started with an etch primer first by using Otex by Tikkurila.
The beauty of Otex is it is solvent based to hide any stains it dries quick and is solid in one coat. It also can take solvent or waterbased paints ontop. I finished this fireplace with a further 3 coats of Farrow and Ball Estate Eggshell in a colour called Salt. The iron work was painted in Matt Black Bedec Barn Paint which is also quick drying and waterbased.
