As members of the FIFA Fan Experience Panel, we've been working for the past months, along with the FIFA Football Technology & Innovation team, the FIFA Working Group for Innovation Excellence, and other stakeholders, on an innovative semi-automated offside technology

Today, we are delighted to officially announce that it will be put to good use during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022

Enhancing the football experience has been one of our mission, and this technology is definitely set to help out, with on one hand a support to referees so they can make faster and more accurate decisions, while on the other hands fans both at home and at the stadium will have access to quick and accurate visualizations through 3D animations

Congratulations for this milestone to everyone involved: the FIFA teams dedicated to this project, the @FifaFanMovement teams at FIFA & @7league, and the last but not the least, my fellow FIFA Fan Experience Panel members
