A quick trick I use to add a little extra punch and impact to cinematic/epic percussion, or when I need a little more attack on each drum sample, without using compression, transient designers, or similar effects (they're all great options, this is just something else I like to do as well). I'm demonstrating this with Soundiron's excellent Apocalypse Percussion Ensemble, but the same principles can apply to most other percussion libraries.
