Mensuration is the branch of mathematics that studies the measurements of geometric figures and their parameters like the length, area, volume etc.
We are going to focus on the area and perimeter of a rectangle and a square, in this video.

A rectangle is a four sided figure, all its sides are at right angles to each other or 90 degrees to each other. Opposite sides are equal and parallel.
Perimeter of a rectangle , P = 2(L+W)
Area of a rectangle , A = L x W

A square is a special type of rectangle, has four sides which are at right angles to each other. The diagonals are equal and bisect each other at right angles. All the four sides are equal.
Perimeter of a Square, P = 4 x L
Area of a Square, A = L x L
