The first reason is Las Vegas Nevada has a whole has a poor education system.
Ranking 49 out of 50, Nevada is not high on the scale. This has a lot to do with the way funds are distributed to the school systems, and Nevada as it would have it, still uses the same old out dated funding formula for decades ago.
The second reason is your skin always seems to be itchy. Las Vegas can have some incredible weather but the summers and parts of winter can be intense on the skin. Summer time you can expect your skin to be dry from the dry heat and in the winter time to be forever itchy unless you consistently use generous amounts of lotion on a daily basis.
The third reason is Nevada leaders are calling for the decriminalization of drugs. It is no secret that marijuana became legal in 2017 and the state has been able to regulate and tax the sales of marijuana but another drug that has been outlawed in the US may soon be legalized. They are referred to as Psilocybin mushrooms. Not everyone is on board with this.
The fourth reason is we have higher gas prices. I’ve mentioned this one before but Nevada as a whole has higher gas prices than majority of states due to there being only one small refinery locally. We rely heavily on CA and UH to refine our gas.
The fifth reason is we have expensive utilities in Las Vegas are more expensive than what you would see in other states. The highest bill that I have seen is electricity. During the summertime, depending on how cold or warm you like your house, can get pricey.
The sixth reason is of the vices. Las Vegas isn't called Sin City for no reason. As a city that supports and monetizes from outrageous parties, strip clubs, supports gambling and is a neighboring city where prostitution is completely legal, its might not be a good place for someone who has an unhealthy relationship with either of these vices.
The seventh reason is you need a car to get around. There are some neighborhoods that have a decent walkability rating but I wouldn’t say that for all areas. To get from point A to point B, it is really important to have a car because Las Vegas is not known for having a reliable transit system.
The eighth reason is Las Vegas sees a lot of tourist and is one of the most visited cities in the world and it is only gaining more clout. With music and dance festivals, like EDC and iHeart Radio, mega pool parties, tourism on the Las Vegas strip and other tourist attractions that are constantly being added, Las Vegas in 2022 had an estimated 37 million visitors, which is an increase from 2021 with a total of 32 million visitors. Thats a lot of people.
