At 3820m above sea level Cerro Chirripo is the tallest mountain in Costa Rica. From the small town of San Gerado, the hike to the summit gains nearly 2000m of elevation over 20 kilometers. Most hikers spend a night at base camp and complete the trek to the summit in two days. We were determined to complete the journey up to the summit and all the way back down in one. This is the story of our adventure to the summit of Chirripo.
