The German Palestine Bank (Deutsch-Palästina-Bank) was established in 1899 as the first German bank in Ottoman Palestine. With branches in Jaffa, Jerusalem, and other major cities, it became a key financial link between Europe and the Middle East.
By 1914, it was absorbed into the Deutsche Orientbank, but during World War I, British authorities shut it down and seized its assets. Under the British Mandate from 1920 onward, the bank did not reopen, marking the end of German banking operations in the region.
