The 2-day LAUNCH Consumer IoT Summit was designed as an immersive experience for start- ups, investors and ecosystem players to come together and explore new possibilities of how integrated and seamless IoT technology business models work and evaluate the latest emerging technologies for adoption and investment.

As the region’s first dedicated consumer IoT event, LAUNCH saw the global IoT ecosystem converge in Hong Kong, the backdrop of Asia’s product development and manufacturing hub.

An integral part of StartmeupHK’s week-long tech festival in January, LAUNCH IoT featured a world-class speaker lineup including including Li & Fung CEO Spencer Fung, Samsung’s Global Innovation Center’s Christina Bechhold, Indigo- go’s Head of Hardware Ben Bateman and senior leaders from DJI, Microsoft, Telsa, McKinsey, GLG, KPMG and more.

Alongside a world-class speaker line-up, the Summit also included global IoT startup competition with the aim to attract innovative IoT entrepreneurs from key startup hubs and help them discover Hong Kong’s distinct advantages as a R&D hub to develop and validate their products and showcase the region as a global launchpad for IoT.

More than 50 startups were selected to participate in the LAUNCH Global IoT Startup Contest, including 18 Hong Kong local teams. Amongst the short-listed contestants, 12 finalist teams took the stage to com- pete for prizes including a place in Brinc’s acceleration program, with Dubai-based Mosaikx taking top honors.
