You’ve just made an amazing game for the Ludum Dare 36 game jam. It’s the best of two worlds, and you want to show it to the world, so you upload it to the internet. Oh no! An evil corporation finds out about the game, and finds it being too much of a resemblance of their own franchise about an Italian plumber, so they send out a DMCA notice and require you to take the game down ASAP, unless you want to face legal consequences. What do you do? Go. (Yes, that was a How I Met Your Mother Reference)

Well, you quickly change stuff in the game and give it a new name, of course! :D And so, welcome to DMCA’s Sky, formerly known as No Mario’s Sky :P This game combines the space exploration elements of No Man’s Sky with the platforming of Super Mario Bros, and it is glorious! :p

You’re Spaceman Finn and you have to fly from planet to planet (randomly generated, sort of like No Man’s Sky) in order to find Princess Mango, beat up Moombas and collect gems - That’s basically it :D

I saw the game on Alpha Beta Gamer back when it was still called No Mario’s Sky, and I knew that I had to download it before Nintendo could do anything :P Unfortunately, I didn’t manage to really record anything until the DMCA notice hit, so I figured that I might just turn this INDIEMO into a video about DMCA’s Sky instead xD

INDIEMO is a series of gameplay videos in which I try out new indie titles that somehow intrigues me, whether it be by aesthetics, gameplay or something else. You won’t find any genre specifics in this series, however, a common ground for all games played on INDIEMO is that they’re either a prototype, in alpha-, beta- or whatever stage - As long as they are not yet launched, I will take a look at it, and hopefully you will join me! :D
