Visible Magic Painting is a classic children’s magic effect created by John Breeds around 1967, featuring a black-and-white picture in a frame that instantly transforms into a full-colour image while remaining in full view of the audience. It is a renowned, practical routine detailed in his books, and later sold as a professional, large-scale apparatus.

The basic effect: A black and white drawing is placed into a frame, often described as a "magic painting" or "picture frame". As the performer lifts the image or performs a magical gesture, the drawing visible transforms into a bright, colorful picture before the audience's eyes.
John Breeds was a seasoned performer and he created this effect around 1967 for his students.

The effect is featured in Breeds' literature, such as How To Create Kids' Magic and Triple Your Income! and Lotz of Magic for Kidz. The authourised marketed version was produced by Repro Magic London 1979 (although many other producers have 'borrowed' the idea.
It is highly regarded as a "big" visual trick with large, colourful props, making it excellent for children's entertainers.
It is now considered a modern classic in the world of children's magic apparatus.

In great complete, working condition. The clown insert has 'yellowed' with age but this does not affect the working in any way.
