These are the mechanical steps jeff took to improve Losmandy GII GoTo accuracy (as featured in the previous video -- "Deep South Winter Galaxies Done Right!" found at • "Deep South Winter Galaxies Done Right!"
Here's how bad things were before jeff developed and implemented this procedure: ("Best Winter Sky Yet!") • "Best Winter Sky Yet!"
All of this is necessary because "Penty" (jeff's backyard observatory located near the house) does not allow access to Polaris. Meanwhile, the procedure would be required when setting up the mount in the southern hemisphere (where Polaris is located below the northern horizon).
