I have driven pass this place many times and was surprised at the size of it. Gaststätten in English is restaurant, but they were not really what we know a restaurant, yes you could have a meal here, there was two bars , dance floors and some even had cinemas (not this one ) :this place has a massive kitchen . I think its shame that these Gaststätten are no longer used, most villages and small towns had them through out east Germany.
Ich bin schon oft an diesem Ort vorbeigefahren und war von seiner Größe überrascht. Gaststätten bedeutet auf Englisch Restaurant, aber sie waren nicht wirklich das, was wir heute unter einem Restaurant verstehen. Man konnte zwar dort essen, es gab zwei Bars, Tanzflächen und manche hatten sogar Kinos (dieses hier aber nicht): Es gab eine riesige Küche. Ich finde es schade, dass diese Gaststätten nicht mehr genutzt werden; in den meisten Dörfern und Kleinstädten Ostdeutschlands gab es sie.
